BILLERICA - Richard "Rick" P. Burtt Sr., age 71, beloved husband of Barbara Haney-Burtt died Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO while visiting family.

He was born in Boston, September 4, 1947, a son of Nelson H. Burtt of Burlington and the late Barbara (McFerren) Burtt. He was raised in Burlington and moved to Billerica 45 years ago.

Rick proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1969. He was a member of the Barons Motorcycle Club for 18 years. He was employed by the Billerica Fire Department for 33 years having retired in 2008 as a Captain and Shift Commander. After retiring from the Fire Department, Rick was employed as a Special Police Officer for the Town of Billerica for five years and became a Justice of the Peace having performed over 200 weddings in the area. He was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild having performed in many movies including Patriots Day. He was also a lifetime member of the Woburn Sportsman's Club. Rick had many interests and hobbies and was an artist and a musician, he was a constant in so many lives.

Along with his beloved wife, Barbara and his father, Nelson, Rick is survived by his daughters, Michelle Violette of Cranston, RI and Cindy Devine and her husband Mark of Windsor, CO; his son, Richard Burtt Jr. of Billerica; his seven grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Garrett, Olivia, Makayla, Leigha and Nolan, one great-grandson, Carter and countless nieces and nephews.

BURTT - Of Billerica, Nov. 25, Richard "Rick" P. Burtt Sr. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 16, at the Courtyard by Marriott, 270 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1-4, with memories to be shared at 2 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
